Kids Math Pup Tutor ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting the privacy of children who use our application. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard information when you or your child uses our app.
Information We Collect
Information Stored Locally on Your Device
The following information is stored only on your device and is never transmitted to our servers:
- Child's first name (optional) — Personalization of greetings
- Grade level selection — Adjusting problem difficulty
- Practice session history — Progress tracking
- Game scores and times — Personal best tracking
- Badge achievements — Motivation and rewards
- App preferences — Customization settings
We do NOT have access to any of this locally stored data.
Analytics Data (Optional)
If analytics is enabled (it can be disabled in Settings), we collect anonymized, aggregate data through Firebase Analytics:
- Screen views — Understanding app usage
- Feature usage — Improving app features
- Session duration — App performance
- Crash reports — Bug fixing
- Device type — Compatibility testing
Analytics does NOT collect: Names, personal information, location data, photos, media, contact information, or any information that could identify your child.
How to Disable Analytics
Parents can disable analytics collection at any time:
- Open the app
- Go to Settings
- Scroll to Privacy section
- Toggle off Analytics
When disabled, no usage data is collected or transmitted.
How We Use Information
Local Data Usage
- Personalization: Display the child's name in greetings (if provided)
- Difficulty Adjustment: Use grade level to show appropriate math problems
- Progress Tracking: Show practice history, streaks, and statistics
- Motivation: Award badges and track achievements
- Preferences: Remember audio, haptic, and display settings
Analytics Data Usage (if enabled)
- App Improvement: Understand which features are used most
- Bug Fixing: Identify and resolve crashes
- Performance: Ensure the app runs smoothly on various devices
What We Do NOT Collect
We want to be clear about what we never collect:
- Full names or surnames
- Email addresses
- Phone numbers
- Physical addresses
- Photos or videos
- Location data (GPS, IP-based, or otherwise)
- Contact lists
- Browsing history
- Social media accounts
- Payment information
- Device identifiers for advertising
- Any personally identifiable information (PII)
Data Storage & Security
Local Storage
- All personal data is stored in encrypted local databases on your device
- Data is protected by your device's security features (PIN, fingerprint, etc.)
- We cannot access locally stored data
Analytics Data (if enabled)
- Anonymized analytics data is processed by Firebase (Google)
- Data is encrypted in transit using HTTPS
- No personal identifiers are collected or stored
Children & Parental Controls
The app is designed for children ages 5–8 and complies with:
- Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA)
- Google Play Families Policy
- General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) where applicable
Parental Rights: Parents can:
- Review all data stored in the app (Settings → Stats)
- Delete all app data (Settings → Clear App Data)
- Disable analytics (Settings → Privacy)
- Contact us with privacy questions
Third-Party Services
Firebase Analytics (Google)
- Purpose: Anonymous usage analytics
- Data Collected: Non-personal usage statistics
- Optional: Can be disabled in Settings
Firebase Crashlytics (Google)
- Purpose: Crash reporting for bug fixes
- Data Collected: Device type, OS version, crash logs
- No PII: Does not collect personal information
Important: We do not use any advertising SDKs or networks.
Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share any personal information.
We may share anonymized, aggregate analytics data only to:
- Improve our app's performance
- Fix bugs and crashes
- Understand feature usage
This data cannot identify any individual user.
International Users
If you are using our app from outside the United States:
- Local data remains on your device in your country
- If analytics is enabled, data may be processed in the United States
- We comply with GDPR for European users
- You can disable analytics to prevent any data transfer
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do:
- We will update the "Last updated" date
- Significant changes will be communicated through app updates
- Continued use after changes indicates acceptance
